Don’t worry, be happy!
Tuesday, the 13th 2008f May, 2008

I don’t know how people who are not friendly survive having twins. One thing I’ve learned in this crazy past year is that you have to be friendly in order to not go insane if you have twins. It can be annoying when you’re out in public and trying to get something done and people want to stop and talk to you every five steps, although most of the time it doesn’t bother me. In fact it’s only bothered me a few times that I can remember, and only when the people who approached me were rude or “weird” in some way. I’m a naturally very friendly person, shocking, I know.
Tonight Preston treated me to El Fenix, which is an awesome Mexican place, and this old couple just loved the girls. They sat at a table across the walk way from us and waved and smiled at the girls while they ate. Then they came over during our dinner when they themselves were done eating and talked to the girls and said hello and asked questions. Several other people around us would say hi to the girls and wave to them, or stop and tell us how cute and well behaved they were. Some people would consider it rude to interrupt someone during their dinner and conversation to “bug” them about their kids. But, we actually really enjoy it. It’s very fulfilling to see our girls bring out smiles and silly sides in other people.
We want to teach our kids to be friendly to others and treat other people nicely. I think we’re doing a pretty good job of that so far. We get compliments on how well behaved they are and how they always smile and some ask “how do you do it?!”. It’s really quite simple. Preston and I are total dorks, we laugh and joke all day. We’re affectionate to each other and the girls, and it rubs off on them. They see us being happy and so they are happy. I’ve always thought it was so sweet that one of the first things Ava learned to do was give kisses. She looooves to be sweet and give kisses.
Now, I’m not trying to sound like we’re all perfect and what not. We’re not. Preston and I argue. Loudly, even, at times. So don’t go thinking I’m trying to be all high and mighty. I’m not. And I’m sure we’ll need to teach Ava the appropriate people to kiss and when. But for now, it’s sweet.
I just don’t understand it when I see people who scold their kids for interacting with a stranger, or for being silly or just being a kid and doing kid things.
So anyway, I don’t really know where I was going with this. I was just thinking about that tonight so there ya have it. Twin survival lesson #1: Be friendly.

p.s. I haven’t forgotten to post the next part of my love story. I haven’t really wanted to post it lately because shortly after the last time I posted it, my ex boyfriend’s girlfriend harassed me on AIM for like, a week straight. I’m still not really sure what her beef is, but, oh well. So I’ll get around to it sometime soon hopefully.

On an unrelated note, I ate too much yummy Mexican food and might need some of this Phentermine no prescription weight loss stuff so I don’t gain all my pregnancy weight back! Ha!

Woohoo!
Monday, the 12th 2008f May, 2008

There are two things I am very excited about today! One is that I have been featured on a popular parenting website called Babble in their Droolicious Blog.

Also, I just launched a new line of Swarovski crystal monogram bows that are extremely cute and classy. And they are on sale for 3 days. Cool, right?

And one not so exciting thing is that I’m getting sick. I think. It’s very possible that it could just be allergies but man, I feel like crud. So now I’m going to go lay down.

More cuteness
Friday, the 9th 2008f May, 2008

I added some new adorable things to the boutique tonight.

My allergies are acting up like crazy the last couple days. My throat is itchy and my nose is all runny and my eyes burn and itch. It’s awful. Last year my allergies were MIA but I’m not so lucky this year. When it gets really bad, I get into a sneezing fit where I’ll sneeze like 20 times in a row and I just can’t stop! Not last summer but the summer before, I was driving and I started to sneeze so much I couldn’t stop and my eyes were watering so bad! I had to pull over because I couldn’t see. Just thinking about it is making my eyes hurt.

Poo on allergies. (Wow. Can you tell I talk to little babies all day? LOL)

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central

“North Central” is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw “Fargo” you probably didn’t think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

The Midland

The West

The Inland North

Boston

The South

Philadelphia

The Northeast

Okay, so sometimes I talk funny. I think what got me was the very last question. Yes, I pronounce “bag” in a way that makes it rhyme with “vague”. I do it with all my “ag” words and Preston loves to tease me about it!

Birthday Fun
Wednesday, the 7th 2008f May, 2008

Tee hee hee! I’m working on things for the girls birthday party and I’m so excited! I think I just found the cake I want to get for them. It’s sooooo cute! I called and left the woman a message so hopefully she’ll call me tonight or tomorrow to discuss the details. It would be perfect to order the cake from her because she is located in the same town as Ashton and we’ll be picking her up the Friday before the party so that would work good. I can’t wait to show you guys a picture!

I love birthday parties. They are so fun! Preston found us some cheap hotels to consider for the weekend. There will be lots of family together for the weekend so there won’t be enough room for everyone to sleep. Plus, the girls will need to have their naps so they can have lots of fun on party day!

Anyway, back to work!

I think I’m showing!
Tuesday, the 6th 2008f May, 2008

Well I’m not pregnant this month. I haven’t “officially” confirmed that yet, if you know what I mean, but I chart my temps and there was a huge drop this morning, so that means I’m out. Bummer. We might try again next month, even though it’s not a “boy month”. According to most polls I’ve seen, the Chinese Lunar Calendar is right about 75-80% of the time. Could be a fluke. Who knows? Oh well. If I got pregnant on my next cycle the due date would be Preston’s birthday! Which is neat for a couple reasons, one being that it’s his birthday and the other being that Ashton’s due date was also Preston’s birthday. We’ll see what happens. I’m not going to obsess over it. (Yah right.)

Even though I’m not pregnant… omg I seriously think I’m showing already!!! LOL! I love when women who are newly pregnant post pictures of themselves and how they are “showing” already. It’s cute.

Does anyone need any dell memory? I don’t. I know Preston needs some things for his computer because his motherboard is frying his ram or something. I dunno. It’s what he said.

Stephanie Plum may not be the best bounty hunter in beautiful downtown Trenton, but she's pretty darn good at turning bad situations her way . . . and she always gets her man. In To the Nines, her cousin Vinnie (who's also her boss) has posted bail on Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant. When the elusive Mr. Singh goes missing, Stephanie is on the case. But what she uncovers is far more sinister than anyone imagines and leads to a group of killers who give new meaning to the word hunter. In a race against time that takes her from the Jersey Turnpike to the Vegas Strip, Stephanie Plum is on the chase of her life.
