There’s an exterminator that comes to our house every 3 months or something and sprays so that bugs don’t get in. I’m convinced it doesn’t work because there are bugs in my house all the time. So, he was here this past week and found that something has burrowed under our house. It must be big because it’s a big hole. Anyway, he also thought that there might be pack rats (ew!) in our garage because there are little random piles of dirt and fuzz and twigs in a few spots in the garage. Couldn’t the piles just be there on their own? Why does he have to say we might have a of couple pack rats??? So just incase he puts out a few of these sticky pad things that are supposed to catch mice and rats (ew!). What ever happened to good old fashioned mouse traps? I don’t really see how these little rectangle sticky pads are going to catch small rodents.
Well the whole point of this story is that I was so sad to go into the garage yesterday and see that there were in fact no rats but there are tons of little lizzard/gecko things!!!! It is SO SAD!!! They are stuck to the sticky pad and they are just laying there all stuck and trying to get away!!!
When I saw this I was devastated. I’ve always love these little things and now there they are… stuck to the stupid rat sticky pad! It’s a whole little gecko family with little babies and everything! Preston tried to get them off but it didn’t work. I didn’t watch. I was too busy feeling bad thinking about the little gecko relatives that are going to miss the little gecko family. Stupid, I know, but really looking at these pad things who thought of such a stupid thing? It’s clear to me that these sticky pads catch everything but rats.
Anyway, enough of my sad gecko story. I’m going to go try and make some babies!

Awww poor geckos!! You should still get some old fashioned mouse traps. They still sell them at Walmart and places like that.

Aw, I know what you’re talking about. I lived in Houston and the Geckos are cute. BUT, when you crawl into bed one night and find a gecko joining you (like I did), the geckos don’t seem too cute anymore.
I don’t like the stick mouse traps either. We used those at a store I worked at, and the mice wouldn’t die they would finally just starve to death or something. It was so sad.

I think the point of the sticky ones is that you can sprinkle this stuff on their feet to let them loose, so you’re not actually killing them. My mom got a bunch when we had mice, and she would just take them out to the woods and let them go.
