I seriously will never understand how some people can have such a warped sense of reality. Doesn’t it amaze you how some people have such a wrong view of the way things are or the way things were? They don’t even know how stupid they look and sound because they actually think that what they are saying is how it is or how it was. There has to be some sort of serious disorder that can be diagnosed for people who lie so much that they actually believe their own lies, and that their lies become reality to them. One little thing here and there is when you start to notice it, but then it becomes where people say things, out of the blue, about a situation that wasn’t even the way it was. Everyday occurrences turn into an opportunity to lie about the way things are or the way they were. Except they don’t think they are lying. They think that what they are saying is how it really was or is, but it’s so far off from the truth. It’s quite amazing to watch.

I think it is a disorder where you actually start to believe what you think is true when in reality its not. I forgot the name of it, but I remember learning about something close to it in my child psychopathology class.

yep, I know a lot of ppl like that. the worst ones (for me, anyway, cuz it’s annoying!!!) complain about their lives 24-7 and when you offer suggestions, they make up TONS of excuses not to change, and I honestly think they believe the lies. someone I know let’s everyone walk over her and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t care, if she’s in sooo nuch denial.
I know that’s probably different because its not DANGEROUS lying, just irritating lying, heh. but yeah, compulsive liars suck.
I hope you feel better from after the contractions and stuff yesterday!!!

I totally hear you on this. I know a few people who are like that and I tell ya it gets to be annoying and extreamly bad.

the only actual disorder i know that involves a lot of lying like that are antisocial personality disorder.
however, there is a non-diagnosed term used for it - pathological liar.
it’s insane how much some people lie. they slip away from reality and it’s just like you said.

oh my god.. i know a chick just like that! she goes to school here, and actually use to be my best friend when i first moved here, that is untill i figured out how she was. her step mom just told me a couple weeks ago she thought she was pregnant, and she carried around a fake baby at school! but thats besides the point, she would always come to school saying stuff about what her and her sister did, and then id find out she hasn’t even seen her sister in forever! and this year, when i quit talking to her, she was supposibly dating this guy named dusty, and she got pregnant, but she never even dated dust or had sex. she went to the looney bin for 10 days.
there is another girl like that named katelynn that goes here, but shes just.. crazy… she has bi polar and has to take pills.
and im not just saying this cause i hurd it from dumb teenagers, ive hurd it from there parents. its crazy, i know i add a little into my situations, and i dont mean to, but i dont think its lying, and i could never see how anyone could do that, and actually believe it. its wierd.. and by looking at them i could never tell they were lying!
