So, yay I made it to 30 weeks! It feels good to have made it to that first goal!!!
However… I’m not so sure I’ll be making it to that next 35 week goal.
I now aparently have borderline high blood pressure, and now my doctor is worried about possible preeclampsia. My blood pressure was high yesterday when I first got there, and then okay later into the appointment. I’ve been having a lot of swelling in my hands and feet. My feet constantly feel bruised, it hurts to walk most of the time. Some swelling is pretty normal in pregnancy but add the high blood pressure and that can really suck. Also I’ve been having some vision problems (seeing stars a couple times a day), and throwing up every day. I thought the throwing up and seeing stars thing were both probably related to low blood sugar, but aparently it is related to high blood pressure as well.
I didn’t have a sonogram yesterday since I had one at my last appointment, but I did have to get hooked up to the fetal monitors again. I have been having BH contractions every day but not often enough to be alarming. I had one during the stress test yesterday so that showed up on the monitor.
My cervix is still closed but since Saturday I’ve had (too much information ahead… ) really watery discharge instead of the normal. At first I thought it was urine but it’s not, so it could possibly be a leak of some sort. My doctor gave me these pH test strips to check if it’s amniotic fluid but it figures that since she gave me them there hasn’t been enough to test anything. So I guess that is good lol!
So, I have to go back on Monday. I guess she’s going to see me weekly now. I have to get this blood pressure thing under control somehow or I won’t be making it to my next goal. Preeclampsia is really dangerous and she made it clear that she won’t hesitate to take the babies early if necessary. I completely trust her judgement, she’s a great doctor. It’s just obviously pretty scary to think of them coming so early. So of course I’m semi freaking out about that. Which is of course making my blood pressure worse I’m sure.
Anyway, we got our stroller and car seats yesterday!
We decided to go with the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller in French Roast with matching seats. I love the whole set up!
The colors are so cute, I love the chocolate/tan/green. It reminds me of a mint! lol
At first thought it seemed boyish but then I was looking at more girl strollers and I’m glad I won’t be pushing around some huge all pink thing! The Quattro Tour Duo is soooo much nicer than the Duo Glider. Babies R Us gave us a discount on both car seats and the stroller so that was nice. Yay for twin discounts!
I’m going to shop for some preemie clothes next week. I haven’t bought anything preemie yet but I’m starting to think I should get a few basics otherwise they could be swiming in newborn outfits! If they don’t wear them, I can always return the stuff and get bigger sizes. I got two small packages of preemie diapers already. They could be so tiny…
I need to really quit thinking about it!

oh sweety you will make it, things will be ok. Those cute babies will be here soon enought. Just try to relax. I know all about preeclampsia from school, so I’ll say a prayer that things work out ok.

hey,
about the preemie outfits…
grace was born at 7lbs 14oz and fit preemie outfits for the first 2 months…lol…and preemie diapers for the first month-month and a half, so buy plenty! lol…
ill keep emma and ava in my prayers!

I, of course, will be praying for you and the babies…. hopefully the high blood pressure was just a result of all the stress going on (too much of it to mention!) Try to take it as easy as possible, k?
By the way, the stroller/car seats are too cute! I think the brown looks very sophisticated…lol.
Love you!

just hope & pray for the best, and i’ll hope and pray with you! you’ve been pretty blessed so far with this pregnancy, so let’s stay optimistic! *hugs* and the stroller & seats are super cute, sarah. they’re such lucky girls!

those car seats and the stroller are cute! definitely better than pushing around some totally pink thing.
i have a feeling everything with your pregnancy is going to work out, and it’s good that you’ll be seeing the doc each week now, to make sure.

A couple more things….
* Did she say anything about the babies’ positions? Are they head down or still breech?
*Hunter was 8 lbs 14 oz. when he was born and 8 lbs 3 oz. when we left the hospital, but even at that substantial size he still wore preemie clothes for like 2 weeks…. I don’t know if that helps, but I went in totally unprepared for that. I had all these newborn and 0-3 months clothes that were just too large for the first two weeks, and I had no preemie clothes.

That stroller and car seat combo is adorable!! I love the colors! And as far as the preemie clothing I would definantly buy quite a bit but of course I believe it’s pretty warm in Texas and if you’re probably not going to be going anywhere usually just a lot of onesies would be good. Taylor is now 10 weeks old and STILL doesn’t fit into most of her 0-3 months clothes! But of course she’s tiny and only 8lbs 9 ounces right now :-)
