It was soooo nice to get away for the night for our anniversary. I missed the babies insanely but I was able to ignore the feeling and have a great time. We went to Nick & Sam’s, a steakhouse in uptown Dallas. I expected that we would go somewhere nice for dinner but I had no idea it would be a place like that. We had the most amazing, ridiculously expensive steak. I’m not even going to tell you how much it cost because you’ll think I’m out of my mind to spend that much on a hunk of beef but seriously, it was SO GOOD. Preston had told me that celebrities frequent Nick & Sam’s while in town (it’s a favorite of George Clooney’s apparently) and surprisingly enough… Preston met Gene Simmons in the men’s room. LOL! I saw him through the door when Preston went in but he had a little chat with him. It was pretty cool. Neither of us really get star struck but I mean come on… Gene Simmons. If you’re going to bump into a legend… I’d say that’s a pretty sweet one to bump into!
Anyway, while we were at the restaurant Preston gave me a silver engraved jewelry box. I was going on about how pretty it was and then finally opened it and almost crapped my pants when I saw what was inside. He got me a 1 ct tw diamond anniversary band. It is GORGEOUS. It’s huge, I’m semi nervous to even wear it for fear that something will happen to it!
After dinner we checked into our hotel. We stayed at the W Hotel downtown. The suite we stayed in was sooooo nice. I’ve wanted to stay there but really, how often do you stay at a hotel in your own area. So, I was excited about that. We spent some time there and then went to the movies. We saw No Reservations. It was really good, I recommend it. Typical date thing, right? We have a thing for movies so going is special to us. Then we went back to our room and well, I can’t tell you what happened after that. Haha Seriously though, it was a great anniversary. It was nice to get away for the night and not have to worry about anything.
So, today I’m just cleaning up around the house and stuff like that. I’m thinking about trying to convince Preston to go swimming with me again. We’ve been getting a good work out swimming and it’s nice to do something summery for exercise. Except I got a little burnt the other day and now it itches like crazy.

I have no clue what we are doing for our anniversary today. Preston has some stuff planned and won’t tell me! I do know that we are staying in a hotel for the night since we can’t go on a trip or anything, and so we can have a night off, and his mom is watching the babies. I’m sorta nervous for that but she’s good with them so I know they’ll be fine. It’s just the first time being away from them for the night. Oh by the way, they slept 6.5 hours straight last night. Yay! New record! Anyway… I know we’re staying somewhere in Dallas, and the only clue I’ve gotten is “you’re going to love it”. Well of course I am, that’s not really a hint! lol I can’t wait to find out what we’re doing, it’s been driving me crazy for the last couple of days! He’s a romantic, so he likes to plan out little romantic things. Ahh I can’t wait!
Well, better go get ready!

1 year wedding anniversary
12:42 pm ~ 13

This Sunday is mine and Preston’s 1 year wedding anniversary! I’m so excited! On one hand, I can’t believe it’s been a year already, and on the other it feels like we’ve been together forever. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect 1st year of marriage. And I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing husband. I know I always talk about how great he is but really, he is. He makes me feel awesome.

So, I’m pretty excited today. I’ve lost 5lbs since Sunday. I have always been lucky enough to lose weight really quickly (and it does stay off) once I start working out. I think the last time I told my weight I was 149… well I went back up to 152 during the time I was bleeding a lot still and after the D&C. Probably because I was just lounging around and taking it easy to try and help the bleeding stop. It got worse when I was up walking around too much. Anyway, I’m at 147 today. :yay: Now, every time I lose weight fast someone tries to tell me that I’m doing it unhealthy or that I’ll just gain it all back. I think they are usually just trying to rain on my parade. So before anyone thinks that, I’m being healthy. I’m eating well, drinking tons of water, and working out properly (nothing crazy where I nearly kill myself). I’ve always lost weight quickly and never experienced it coming back once I lower the frequency of working out. So, no worries.

Anyway, I need a shower then I’m on my way to the dr for a checkup.

Emma and Ava are 8 weeks old today! Seriously, I don’t even know where the time has gone. It seems like I had them just last week! They are so amazing. Emma smiles all the time, she’s the happiest baby! Ava is more serious, she always has a serious look on her face, but she’s a happy baby too. She is just starting to really smile. Tonight she did something for the first time… I went to check on her in the swing expecting her to be asleep still and she was wide awake and as soon as she saw me she got a big smile on her face and let out the cutest little “awwww” noise. It was ADORABLE!
They are sleeping 5-6 hours at night now, it’s awesome. We both get decent sleep at night because Preston takes the middle of the night feeding and I take the 7am feeding so we both get in a good stretch of sleep. That’ll change though when he starts flight school. It shouldn’t be bad though. Their last feeding is at 10pm so if I get to bed by midnight I can get 3-4 hours until they eat again and then 3-4 hours again before they eat at 7am. They do really well at night, I wouldn’t be surprised if they started sleeping longer very soon.
I’m thinking about switching them over to soy formula. Since I quit pumping breast milk for them (thanks to all the postpartum issues resulting in going on regular birth control… no more milk! ) they have been spitting up and really gassy. I switched them to Enfamil’s gentle formula but it hasn’t made that much of a difference. Poor babies. The only time they really fuss is when their tummy’s hurt. I feel bad because when I give them the breast milk that I have stored in the freezer, they do great so I know it’s the formula. I still have a good 2 months worth but I’m trying to stretch it out so they get at least some breast milk for a longer period of time rather than all breast milk at once.
Anyway, time for me to go get on the elliptical.

it hurts so good

My butt and thigh muscles are burning so bad right now. Yesterday Preston and I started our new get healthy regime. We bought an elliptical machine during my pregnancy and now it’s finally getting some use, along with the Total Gym. That thing is pretty sweet. I’m doing pilates again, as soon as I get the ok from my doctor on Thursday. This last procedure I had done set me back on that a little but I’m pretty sure she will give me the go ahead on Thursday. It feels sooooooo good to be working out again. I used to do pilates before getting pregnant and they always kept me in shape so I can’t wait to start them again.
I have done really well these last two days with my Pepsi consumption. For some reason I started craving Pepsi really bad and so I was drinking it way, way too much. I tried Diet Pepsi Max on Sunday and it seriously tastes soooo close to regular Pepsi. It doesn’t have the diet after taste at all, which is what I hate about diet sodas. This is really good though. I had one Sunday and then today I had a baby Pepsi and it ended up actually tasting too sweet to me. So, yay for that. I can get my Pepsi craving covered and not pack on calories. I drank tons of water during my pregnancy and then after I had the babies I started drinking way less but I’ve been craving ice cold water a lot again so hopefully that will keep me away from soda because it’s bad for you no matter if it’s diet or not.
I have to get used to typing with nails again. I got them done again today. I didn’t get them done my entire pregnancy so I did that today with Ashton.
Anyway, I need a shower and then I need to get to bed. The babies are sleeping from 10pm to about 3:30-4am so that’s good. If I ever actually went to bed after feeding them at 10pm I might actually get some decent sleep but I can’t seem to get in bed before 1am. It’s not too bad though. Preston takes the 3:30-4am feeding and then I take the 7am feeding so we both usually ending up getting some good sleep in.
Okay, *in my best Kip voice* peace out.
