:censor: GRR! :censor: Why, why, why does AT&T get to have the iphone??? :censor: AT&T is the WORST ever. Seriously, I strongly dislike AT&T. Have you ever tried to call their customer service???? Holy crap. Save yourself, and never get AT&T. I had them for my land line, and I tried to call and move my service when we moved… it was hell. They try to sell you everything they offer, except they don’t even ask. They just say shit like “we’ll send someone out to set up your satelite tomorrow…” and if you don’t catch what they say, you end up with a shit ton of services you don’t want. Then, if you turn down all their extra services, they hassle you beyond imagination. It’s the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. And so Apple gives them the iphone. ASSHOLES. When I was trying to move my service, they wanted me to get their DSL but I turned it down. The guy asked me what my current speed was (at the time we had Verizon FIOS) and he said to me, in the biggest assholish voice, “Actually…. that’s impossible.” I was SO PISSED. DSL is NOT the fastest, sorry Mr. AT&T guy, but it’s not.
I love Apple and the iphone is sweet, but seriously, why AT&T? :stress:

I totally agree with you. AT&T does suck. Where I live we cannot get DSL, cable, or wireless, just dial-up or satelite. I got online searching for highspeed internet, well AT&T said they offered it so I call them up. The guy on the phone tells me “Oh no, we don’t offer it there.. that is Verizon territory”, ok.. why does the website say you do then?.. seriously. I’m pretty lucky I am in “Verizon territory” though, otherwise he would have probably tried to sell me a million things lol. I am really disappointed about the iphone too, I want one. I’m not about to switch providers though. I’m sure eventually Verizon will come out with something similar.. I hope.

canada is getting the iphone in august, but I’m not sure who the provider will be for it…
I wouldnt get it as soon as it came out even though it looks cool, way to much money and way to many kinks that still need to be worked out. I’m sure in a few years someone else will carry it.

As an Apple enthusiast, I would totally pay the price for an iphone… if only they would give it to someone who actually has great service… like Verizon. AT&T sucks so bad, I cannot imagine the iphone will be exclusive to them for too long.

to be fair, their cellular customer service is completely different than their other services(it’s old cingular customer service), since they just became one company. from my experience the cellphone customer service isn’t that bad, and definately not sales driven, we were never told to sell anything. but really, thats coming from a girl who worked at at&t and cingular for 2.5 years of my life.
i’m sure if you wait long enough the phone will come out for the other carriers, and from what i read there is going to be a newer, smaller, cheaper model coming out sometime in the near future. maybe you can buy one on ebay and get it unlocked? of course that only works if you have another carrier that uses sim cards, so if you have verizon you’d be screwed.

AT&T/Cingular ranked very low on the bottom of the 2007 Wireless Customer Care Performance Study, and I’ve heard nothing but complaints from friends/family about their connectivity. I have Verizon, so I’m screwed as far as the iphone goes, but at least I have excellent service.

That’s exactly what I thought when I heard iPhone was thrown to AT&T. I hated AT&T and Cingular separately, there’s no way I’d abandon the amazing service and connectivity I get with Verizon for an iPhone. I don’t care how awesome that phone is - what’s the point of having it if I don’t get service anywhere?

AT&T just recently obtained Cingular, so it’s no surprise that they haven’t completely ruined anything that was good about Cingular. They haven’t had time. Give them time and they will. Their “new direction” of buying up everything so that AT&T will be your ONE solution for everything is evidence enough that they believe you ought to have everything through them. It’s one thing to OFFER what you have, but to try and trick people into taking everything you have, is overkill. gotta go change babies

omgosh so many entries. I’m commenting on them all here. haha.
I’ve never had a box dye make my hair orange. Maybe I’m just lucky?
AT&T isn’t even offered here. I think it was stupid for apple to join up with them.

You are right about the high pressure sales but I get that with everything I have including direct tv! Honestly though, I have been a Cingular/AT&T wireless customer for years(4 to be exact) and have had absolutely no complaints with my service. No dropped calls, they have a massive network, etc. I just renewed my contract with them and opted for a Red Blackberry Pearl, which I totally love

It brilliant marketing though…offering exclusive phones. Like the Sidekick with T-Mobile. Which I wanted but not enough to switch carriers. =)
