Filed Under: Books, Emma & Ava, Life (Or Something Like It)

I think Emma and Ava must be going through a growth spurt. Both of them just want to eat and sleep the last couple days. They haven’t been wanting to stay awake for more than an hour at a time. It’s funny, I’ll put them down for the night and the next morning they’ll look bigger! I think I’m actually going to have to move them up to 3 month size clothes soon. Wooo! They are still in NB sizes right now. Ava will need the next size before Emma will, but Emma isn’t far behind. Gosh they’re so cute! I can’t even handle it.

Last night I finished Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich and started Three to Get Deadly. These books are so good! I’m breezing through them because I just can’t put them down. I passed off the first one, One for the Money, to my mom and she finished it in just a few hours. Good books. I’m addicted to them, thanks to my friend Jennifer. She was reading one when she was here and got me interested.

I’m so glad tomorrow is Saturday. Preston is flying earlier in the day, then we have church ♥ in the evening, and then our at home date night. We have made Saturdays our official date night. Sometimes we go out but lately we have been staying home and watching movies. We spend a lot of time together anyway but it’s nice to have one night every week to look forward to. Which reminds me, I need to buy some wine glasses tomorrow. My aunt gave us two bottle of red wine that I’ve been wanting to try. My family lives in wine country so I figure it’s time I finally give wine a shot.

Well, the little angels are soundly asleep so I’m getting in the bath to relax and read.

i need 2 change
2:36 pm ~ 5
Filed Under: Church, Life (Or Something Like It)

You might have noticed the banner I put up… it links to ineed2change.com. It’s a website made by our church as part of a new series our pastor, Ed Young, is starting in September. It’s amazing to read what people want to change. It’s sad how many people have severe problems in their marriages. It’s interesting to see… most of the people who have posted are likely people who go to our church. I find myself sometimes looking around at people thinking how they must be “good” Chrisitans… thinking about all the things about me that I need to change. I realize that’s silly. Everyone has things they need to change. Everyone has secrets they don’t talk about. In a way it’s comforting to know that I’m not out of the ordinary, that some things in my life are not so uncommon. It doesn’t make things that I do okay, it just makes it easier to deal with and overcome knowing I’m not the only one who has things they are not proud of.
Reading what people have posted, it really puts into perspective something that our pastor said on Sunday… Fellowship Church is the perfect place for imperfect people. Really, any church is the perfect place for imperfect people. It’s funny how people will bash Christians and say that we’re all a bunch of hypocrites. No, we’re just human. Some people just don’t get it.

So, I need 2 change.

I want to quit carelessly spending money.
I want to work with my husband to create a balanced budget.
I want to continue to support my husband in his career change.
I want to have more patience with people who frustrate me.
I want to have more patience with things that I want.
I want to have more patience with LIFE.
I want to be more quick to accept my husband as my leader.
I want to quit swearing.
I want to move past the conflicts with my husband’s ex-wife.
I want to completely forgive myself for things I have done in the past.
I want to manage my time better.
I want to get more personal with God.
I want to better ignore the bad and untrue things that are said about me and my husband.
I want to stop participating in family gossip.
I want to really believe that I’m a great mother and quit second guessing myself.
I want to raise my tolerance level.

I could probably list a lot more. . .

nursery photos (finally!)
3:48 pm ~ 8

Okay I finally took a few quick pictures of the nursery. They are not that great of photos because I just snapped them quickly while I was thinking about it. You can see the photos here. I added notes to some of the photos so you can scroll over the picture to read the note.
The theme is baby farm animals. I still have some things to do to the room. I was unable to finish the room while I was pregnant and then since I’ve had them I’ve not found time to get in there and finish up. I am hoping to put the finishing touches in there soon though since we are actually using the room now.
We need to add the loft above the barn doors, get a little table to put a lamp and other small things on, put the rocking horse together, hang various things on the walls, put together misc. decorative things… stuff like that. I will add more photos when it is completely complete.

I finally uploaded all the photos of the girls that I have, and our wedding photos, to our photo website. I threw up a few on myspace too, and I’ll probably add a couple to my flickr account. I still have to take photos of their room. I always forget. It’s not completely done, I still have to add some finishing touches, but it’s pretty much “done”. I’ll try to remember to take some tomorrow. We are trying to transition them to their cribs at night instead of in our room. They’re doing okay with it. It’s hard to tell how they are really doing because they are still getting adjusted to being back home. I think they are finally back on their schedule now though.

When I was at my parents house, I was looking through patterns with my mom and I got an urge to make some teddy bears. I saw the cutest patterns for stuffed animals. I like to sew but have only made clothes, so I think I’m going to give it a shot at some teddies.

I need to attempt to answer some emails before the babies eat at 7pm. I hate when I get behind like this!
