The babies slept through the night last night! I was surprised! Emma woke up around 4am so I gave her her passy and then went to make bottles… by the time I was done they were back to sleep so I put the bottles in the fridge and went back to bed. They didn’t start getting restless till about 6am and then started crying at 6:30am. They normally start their day at 7am. Woohoo! Something tells me this might just be a fluke but we’ll see… I’m going to try giving them their passy when they wake up in the middle of the night before giving them their bottles. Worked last night… Usually I just make their bottles since they sleep 5-5.5 hours before waking up. I guess I’m just “lucky” right?
I laugh when people tell me I’m just lucky and I have easy babies… I could have babies that fussed all the time, had their days and nights mixed up, and didn’t sleep through the night until they were over a year old… If I picked them up or stuck a bottle in their mouth every time they made a peep… that’s a good way to have a baby who can’t be put down and doesn’t have regular eating patterns… which will result in irregular sleeping patterns. Even fussy babies can be good babies. I really think most of it has to do with parenting. But, a parenting debate isn’t something I want to get into right now…

yes, i admit, i did the wrong thing and stuck a bottle in Grace’s mouth everytime she made a peep cause that would make her go back to sleep….now im payin for it…she just turned a year yesterday and, she STILL wakes up 2-3 times at night, JUST for a bottle…
where were u when i needed all this info?!?!?! haha

I think it’s hard for a lot of parents to put their infants on a schedule. It’s either too frustrating or heart breaking for them to hear their child fuss, so they just give in. Then the babies quickly realize that if they want something, they just fuss.
I’m nowhere near ready to have a child, but when I am I’ll be taking your approach.

sounds like you know what you are doing. I like the idea about the passy before the bottle.

Aww that sucks Nicole.
I no where near know it all… but hopefully I help some people. I think having twins helps… I can’t realistically pick them both up all the time. I quickly got over the thinking that every time they made a noise I had to run in and do something. I can totally see how parents fall into that though, because it is tempting!

I wish I wouldn’t have been so young when I had Cole because I would have done so many things differently. Especially when it came to his sleeping patterns. But, thats life I guess.
I’m so glad the babies are doing so good. You seem to have it under control and thats so inspiring.

I think alot of people just want to do everything possible for their child out of their love for them, so it must break some people’s hearts to let their baby cry it out and calm down. But sometimes that follows into the next year of life, and the subsequent ones, and then you have some kids who scream in the store until their parent buys them a cookie, a toy, and every other thing they screamed for. I’m schocked how many kids at my store try to boss us around for stickers, and hit their parents, and get rewarded for this behavior with 3 kinds of cookies.

Your girls are beautiful. I remember when my daughter Allie first slept through the night. I woke up in a panic because she had slept 8 straight hours. I thought something was up for sure. Good luck with it tonight.

I don’t work anymore, I’m a stay at home mom.
Best job ever!
