I moved my big long rant to private entries. It really sucks when I have to do that. But, it’s for the better anyway. What good is a blog when you can’t speak your mind about anything and everything you want without someone getting upset about it? I’ll probably end up deleting the entry anyway. I usually rant about something and it makes me feel better to get it out and then I got back and delete it. Oh well.

By the way, I’m helping someone drive some traffic to their 5.11 Tactical Gear Blog so check it out if you want. It would mostly be of interest to people in (or who have spouses in) the military or in law enforcement. It’s a good blog and there’s some pretty cool stuff anyway even if your not in law enforcement or the military. Some good Christmas ideas for your hubby.

5 months old!

The girls are 5 months old today! :censor: When did that happen? I blinked and they went from my tummy to 5 months old!

Last night I was considering listing some of the girls old Carter’s baby clothes on ebay because really, I’m never going to use them again. Realistically, if I have another girl or two I know that I’ll just go out and buy a bunch of new stuff so really the chances of the stuff ever being used again are slim. So I was going through stuff and everything is so tiny! Preston walked in right when I got to their little preemie sleepers that used to be too big for them and I lost it. I started crying about how tiny they used to be and how I know it’s stupid but I just can’t get rid of their stuff yet. Or ever. It’s silly I guess to be so attached to clothes but it’s a reminder of how small they used to be and it’s very emotional for me. Especially the stuff that Emma used to wear. She was so tiny and fragile.

I still worry about her all the time. It’s so hard having preemies. It’s not too bad with Ava because she is, for the most part, right on track with a baby her age but my little Emma is about one month behind. It’s hard to not compare them and expect Emma to be doing the things that Ava does. One month of development is a lot of stuff when you think about it. For example, Ava just rolled from her back to her tummy in the middle of the night. I came up stairs to get her and she was on her tummy! Emma doesn’t hold her head up for very long when on her tummy and she’s still a while off from rolling over. I have to stop myself when I start to compare them and think that she should be doing the things that Ava is doing. It’s crazy that with them being twins, pregnancy on my end was exactly the same for both of them but for some reason Emma was the one to run out of space and Ava thrived more. Who knows why. Emma is actually doing exceptional though, she’s just developmentally the age of a 4 month old instead of a 5 month old.

Anyway, they are getting sleepy. Time for a morning nap!

Christmas Ideas

Filed Under: Life (Or Something Like It), Movies, Shopping

I’ve been thinking about what to get Preston for Christmas this year. Last year I got him a whole tool box full of tools. I’ve heard that Ingersoll Rand air tools are pretty good but I got him more of the basics, and they were all Craftsman. I actually don’t know a thing about tools… it took me forever to pick stuff out and I spent a lot of time on the phone with my Dad trying to comprehend what some of these tools actually do. But they’ve definitely come in handy. He uses them all the time. So, if you need an idea for your hubby or boyfriend for Christmas, you can’t go wrong with tools. But get some really good ones because they will last a whole lot longer.

I wish I could tell you what I’m wanting to get him this year but I can’t because then he would know! I have a couple ideas so far. We both want fairly expensive things for Christmas this year so we have agreed to get each other one gift each. I have a feeling he won’t comply with the little “rule” though. He’s cute, he likes to spoil me and then he wonders why I’m so spoiled! I’m not really spoiled though. I’ve asked for a really nice sewing machine or a Kitchen Aid. The sewing machine is higher on the want list right now. Anyway, we’re all around not going as crazy on the gifts this Christmas. Ashton got a ton of stuff last year that she barely plays with. So we’re going to try to make wise choices about gifts and not get everything that she says she wants like last Christmas. It’s hard to shop for her it seems like. All she wants to do is play the Game Cube or play on the guest computer. (Disclaimer to those who will care: the computer is completely locked down and she can only access the websites that are in the “okay” list on her profile, and porn sites are not included in that list.) When I was a kid I wanted to play outside all the time and play with my Barbies and dolls. Most kids now just want to play video games. Ashton cries like I’m punishing her when I tell her to play outside. It’s sad, a lot of kids are the same way. My girls are not going to be like that. They’re going to play outside, they’re not going to watch a lot of TV, they’re going to pretend and be creative and use their imaginations instead of pressing buttons on some electronic game for hours on end. Parent’s do have control over these kinds of things.

Anyway, I’m going to watch Black Snake Moan with my honey. Hopefully it’ll be a good movie.

By the way, did I tell you Emma has been sleeping through the night every night since we started giving her cereal? It’s wonderful. Now if I would just go to bed earlier I would really get a lot of sleep!
