Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

I hate packing. I actually just really hate everything that goes along with moving. Having to transfer all your services and junk like that. But, I am going to love having that extra money every month, so it’s worth it. It’s really going to help. We have quite a few things to do on Monday so I think they are going to give us the keys tomorrow. That would be good to be able to use the weekend to move.
Anyway, better get back to it. It’s hard finding time to pack between all our sex parties, drug sprees, alcohol binges, and how-to-lie classes we teach, but we’re managing.

If you get a chance, check out this video. It’s too funny!

We got the condo!

Some of you are probably like huh? I posted about this in private already, so to make a long story short… We have been living in our current place for about 8 months now. We pay a very large lease payment because we currently have a “lease to own” deal so that makes the payment a lot higher for us. We aren’t making as much money as we used to for several reasons, so we evaluated our situation and decided that housing is the only area we can really save a decent amount of money in. So, we applied for a condo that is $1,000 less each month than what we are currently paying and out of 5 couples who applied, they picked us! I’m SOOOOO relieved. I’ve been stressing over this big time.

The condo is amazing. It’s 3 story in a downtown setting, 4 bedrooms plus an office. It’s so nice. It’s definitely not a downgrade at all, I was shocked at the lease price. This is really going to help us out a lot to be able to save $1,000 a month. We move in Monday. I’ve been packing this week. I will post pics when I have some. Yay!

I’m sitting here after putting the girls down for a nap, listening to Emma do her “fake cry”. It’s very a very dramatic “ooooh I’m so upset, come see me” cry that she does when she doesn’t want to take a nap. It’s so dang cute. When I was pregnant I always wondered if I would really be able to tell their cries apart to know what they wanted, but now that I have them here, it’s very obvious to me their different cries. And I’ve always been able to tell Emma and Ava’s cries apart. Ava has a deeper voice and her cries are deeper, and Emma’s is more high pitch. Honestly, Ava has a tolerable cry and Emma has a blood curling shriek. It’s tolerable also (although not for very long), but it makes my stomach jump every time I hear it. It’s like she’s in excruciating pain except really she just dropped her pacifier and she wants you to know she’s really pissed about it.

I’m also sitting here waiting for a phone call, and every time Preston’s phone rings I hope that it’s the call we are waiting on but it hasn’t been yet. I just want to get this one call and get on with things.

And I’m also sitting here wondering… Read the rest in private entries…

gifts with a cause

I had the chance tonight to look over a website called JacarandaStyle. JacarandaStyle sells hand-made home accessories and jewelry made in South Africa. You might remember that I said I was going to try to make all my Christmas gifts this Christmas. I decided that if I couldn’t make everyone’s gifts myself that I would at least buy hand-made gifts instead. I think it’s important to support artists who offer their hand-made creations to other people. So anyway, not only does this website I mentioned have amazingly beautiful items, a portion of every item sold is donated to the Ethembeni School in South Africa. The Ethembeni School serves over 300 physically disabled and visually impaired students in South Africa. I always like buying gifts for people when I know part of the purchase goes to help a good cause.
I absolutely love this teapot. It is $110 and I seriously wish I had that much to spare right now. My Aunt loves tea pots and I would love to get that for her. I just know she would adore it. And I love, love, love this vase and this platter. Someday hopefully I’ll be able to furnish our house in amazing pieces like that. Surrounding yourself with things that you know went to support a good cause is a rewarding feeling. It’s also nice to fill your house with special, unique, hand-made items. It makes everything a whole lot more personal.

I basically have the coolest husband and friends, ever.

Preston started this new thing where he narrates what he is doing, thinking, saying, etc. This is the example I got when I said “huh?” when Preston and TJ told me about their new way of speaking:

“As I sat in my computer chair, I pushed away from my desk and turned around and looked at my hot wife. I explained to her what it was like to narrate everything you do by narrating everything I was doing. Then I got up from my computer chair, walked over to my wife, pulled her close and kissed her softly.”

Well, you get the idea. Try it, it’s really quite funny. It’s even better when you’re playing Guitar Hero III and trying to narrate that. I love that the people I surround myself with are fun and dorky. It’s nice to be able to be a “grown up” but still have a chance to be a total dork when the time is right. Like staying up until 4am playing Guitar Hero III in your underwear, wearing wigs and sunglasses pretending to be rock stars. Dancing around and being totally goofy. I’ve never understood people who were so serious about everything that they couldn’t just let loose and have a good time. Life is too short to be that serious.

I moved the last two entries into private because I want to be considered for a particular opportunity and don’t want innocent rants that turned into shit to be all over the place. K? So, continue the discussion there if you want.
