fun for all ages
5:06 pm ~ 3

I’ve probably just witnessed one of the funniest things ever. Preston’s dad (who is old, probably almost 70?) playing the Wii. He was getting so into the bowling and baseball games, and then we put in Wii Play and oh. my. gosh. I could not quit laughing when he was playing the shooting game (similar to the old Duck Hunt). Here’s Grandpa aiming his Wii controller like a shotgun, we all expect him to do ok with it and he busts out like he’s a pro! There’s also this racing game where your little Mii person rides a bulls in a race and he was laughing so hard when he was racing and jumping over the hurdles. So friggin’ funny. You know Boomhauer from King of the Hill? That’s what his dad sounds like when he talks. Sooooo funny. Love it.
I’ve had too many sweets today! Good thing I only eat sweets like this once a year. I’m going to need some diet pills after this holiday season is over!

Christmas decorations
11:43 pm ~ 1

I’m sad that it’s almost time to take down our Christmas decorations. I love having all the Christmas lights up. We tried out the LED string lights this year, they are supposed to save energy. There’s just something about the cozy glow of the white Christmas lights that I love. It makes the house not so “blah”, ya know? We have some pretty cool lighting in our new place though. I’m wanting to change out all the bulbs to ones that save energy. We cut our electric bill more than in half when we moved but maybe switching bulbs will help even more? I bet we could come up with something creative to do with the LED Christmas lights… maybe put them in the entertainment room or on one of the balconies for when we sit out there. I went to a wedding recently where they used white Christmas lights, it was so pretty. If you have the LED kind you can get all creative and keep them out all year long if you wanted, seeings as they last 50,000 hours!

We decorated for Christmas right after we moved in here so we haven’t lived in this place without the Christmas decorations up. I bet it’s going to look pretty bare when we take everything down. Guess that means I’ll have to start a “home decor” savings fund too! I would love to make some things for around the house. That would be way better than buying random stuff. I’ve really wanted to start making flower arrangements. Maybe I’ll learn how to do that soon.

Anyway, I’m going to bed!

new sites
11:16 pm ~ Comments Off
Filed Under: Site Related, The Internets

I’m going to unofficially add to the list of New Year’s resolutions that I’m going to get up a couple new websites. I have been doing some blogging assignments as you have probably been able to tell, and so I want to try to move most of that to a new review site. I started it a couple months ago but I’ve been too busy to get it up. So I really want to do that. Not everything on the review site is going to be paid blogging, it’s going to be good. Trust me. Also I need to find something to do with insydio.us. It’s an awesome domain name, so I need to find something really cool to do with it. Any suggestions? I was thinking about making it a video blog… but I’m not sure. Hmmmmm.

Also, Preston and I are making a website about twins that we are excited to launch. It still needs a lot of work though, but it should be fun. If you are a MOM (mother-of-multiples) send me an email or leave me a comment and find out how you can help contribute to our new twin website!

I always forget these things
10:56 pm ~ Comments Off
Filed Under: Blonde Moments, General, Health/Beauty

Am I the only one that forgets to refill my prescriptions every month? I was just in my room and realized that I need both my prescriptions refilled! And the bad part is that we are between insurance companies right now so I will probably have to attempt to pay full price for them. I guess full price for birth control pills one month is cheaper than another baby, right? Maybe I can get my pills cheaper if I order them online from a Canadian Pharmacy or something. Really though, sending in my prescriptions online to be refilled might be a good idea, maybe that way I won’t forget to refill them. I bet you can have them automatically refilled. But then I still have to remember to go pick them up. You would think that I wouldn’t forget something as important as this but what can I say, I’m a ditz sometimes.

Ashton’s Gifts
5:46 pm ~ 3
Filed Under: Family, Life (Or Something Like It)

Ashton opened her gifts a little bit ago and she was completely excited. We got her a pink Nintendo DS… and the Wii. She got a few games to go with each and a couple other little things. We had to save to get her what she wanted but she really does deserve it because she’s such a good kid when she’s at our house. She was ecstatic because she asked for the Wii for Christmas but she says her step dad got it instead which, in her own words, “really sucked” so she was extremely happy to get her own Wii. I guess that would kind of suck for a little kid to want something so bad and have someone else get it. At least she’ll get to play it at both houses… I hope. I think certain video games are fine for kids to play in moderation. It’s been interesting to see Ashton play Rock Band on the Xbox 360 and get really good at it. We don’t let her play Guitar Hero III though. The characters on there don’t dress appropriate for an (almost) 8 year old.
Speaking of video games, I also got Preston Assassin’s Creed which is an amazing game. The graphics are insane and the game play is incredible. But, definitely one to play after the kids are in bed.
Anyway, I’m going to go watch Ashton play her Wii. I’ve never seen it played before. Maybe if I ask nicely she’ll let me have a turn.
