House, babies, and wings

Today was a good day. Most every day is a good day, however today was exceptional. Want to know why? Good, because I was going to tell you. We got our Direct TV hooked up today, which means that Sunday after the (retardedly overrated) Super Bowl (which I will not be watching thank God) I get to reunite with House. Yes. This has made my day. See how easy I am to please? I think that House (and Wilson) are uber sexy. But shh… don’t tell my husband. Oh right, he already knows! I love the sarcastic attitude House has. It’s strangely charming. In a fake TV character sort of way, of course.

This post would not be fair without including a photo of my adorable and sweet husband. There. Now it’s fair. See how sexy he is too?! And he sings to me. *Swoon* For the record, I love him five gazillion times more than I love House.

Also what has made the day exceptional, is that the financial situation is looking up extremely quickly and I am relieved to say the least. Cutting the rent in half has helped way more than I expected. We will be completely caught up on everything (minus child support - HI - yes we suck, we know) by the end of February. It’s a huge, huge relief. Then the beginning of March we will have our insurance again, which is another huge relief. We are supposed to go with this plan that does not have maternity coverage, but I think we have finally decided that we actually want to keep the maternity coverage. Who knows, I might need that coverage along with some maternity jeans soon. Either way it’s back by March and as soon as it’s active I am going to the dentist! I love getting my teeth cleaned. I’m one of those weird people who actually like going to the dentist. (That was a pretty random little tid bit right there! )

Anyhow. . . I just had a really good day. Sometimes I have days where I am reminded more than the usual of how incredibly blessed I am. Today was one of those days. I just love my happy giggly babies and my sweet thoughtful husband. It’s good.

Ashton will be here this weekend, which is also a relief. I can quit worrying about her for oh. . . 50 hours or so? I spend a lot of time worrying about her well being lately. It really takes a lot of stress off me when she is here with us because when she is here I know that she is safe and peaceful. Poor thing. Have I ever told you how much she loves wings? She can eat wings like there is no tomorrow. We aren’t talking mild wings here either… we’re talking HOT wings. She asked if I knew how to make home made hot wings so we are going to do that together this weekend. I’m looking forward to it.

Okay so, this was all random but hey, most of the time it is right? I’m going to bed now, I am so tired.

p.s. To add to the exceptionalness, I am now 1lb lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight. WOO! I just try to eat smart. It works for me.

Oh my gosh I cannot believe that our girls are 8 months old today!!! First our little Ashton turns 8 and now our little munchkins… 8 months old. Geez!!!

Both of them can sit up now for a decent amount of time on their own. Emma can’t stay up as long as Ava because she always tries to straighten out her legs, which makes her fall back. They are both trying as hard as they can to crawl. I think they’ll get it really soon. It’s amazing how mobile they are now even though they don’t crawl yet! The other day I put the on a blanket outside the master bathroom door while I took a shower and when I got out, Emma had made her way around the TV and was over by the bedroom door with one her her toys. I guess she got bored and decided to go exploring!

They are such amazing babies. Ava is just laid back and happy all the time. Emma has her temper but it’s easy to handle if you know how. Preston is better at calming her down than I am though. I think it’s the strong daddy thing. It seems to be more calming for her than the soft mommy thing. Other than the temper she is such a funny, happy baby.

Call me crazy but I can’t wait to have more! We want a boy really bad. We’re actually hoping for boy twins next time! hehe Wouldn’t that be crazy? Having spontaneous fraternals once does double your chances for having them again, so who knows!

Anyway, the girls are ready for dinner and I think I’m getting hungry myself… I can smell the roast I put on this morning and it smells so good. Mmm.

My husband has skills

I answered two questions tonight. One is an interesting one…

We woke up to an unpleasant surprise today. Direct TV had automatically charged $1498 to our bank account. AWESOME. Preston called to figure out what was going on and it turns out, when we moved we cut our service off because we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to have satellite here at the condo or not. We planned on moving the service to the new address once we found out if they allowed satellites or not, but we weren’t in a big hurry because we are not really TV watchers. I watch House but that’s about the extent of the TV watching going on here. So apparently this huge charge was for non returned equipment. We hadn’t returned it because we planned on hooking it up again this week actually (since House started again this week) and we didn’t really know we were supposed to return it since we had to pay a lot in order to have these HD boxes in the first place. So we are having our service hooked up again on Thursday and they are refunding the entire charge. Which is good, but it will take 2-5 days to be refunded, which is not so good. Oh well, what can ya do? It’s just really irritating.

So my brother is here again for a while. He was here this past March-August and now he’ll be here again until at least May. Preston is training him to take over one of our companies, so he’s spends a lot of time here, which is nice. He’s fun, and a big help. He’s just amazed at how big the girls have gotten. They think he is quite entertaining.

Which reminds me, Amy had asked if Preston was going to be flying commercial passenger planes, and a few others have asked about it before too so I thought I would explain that a little for those who are interested. You all are extremely interested, right? He’s training to be a professional pilot, more specifically, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) where he would be a pilot for a major airline. Actually, since I would be awful at explaining this, here is the wonderful and amazing Preston, here to answer all your questions. He’ll be here all night. . .

All the cool people have blogs
9:06 pm ~ 19

And we all know life is all about being cool, right?

I was reading this post by Amanda on how non-bloggers view the blogosphere. I have to agree with her. Some people find it strange that a person would want to blog about every little detail of their life and diss on it like it’s some weird strange thing. Hello! This is 2008. Blogs are not new and they are certainly not odd. The only thing that is odd are the people who diss on you and call you odd for having a blog, but then obsess over your blog multiple times a day. (And then make their own secret blog to obsess over you even more… lol)

I’m wondering, for those hip enough to embrace the 21st century, why do you blog?

I blog because it’s just what I do. It’s my creative outlet. I get hot at the sight of html and css, and having a blog allows me to get my coding fix in regularly. Also, I’ve been blogging since I was 15 and for some strange reason, people have always come to my blogs see what I have to say. Apparently I’ve said something worth reading over the last 8-9 years. I love to write. I admit, I don’t do my best writing on here, I need to work on putting more effort in to my posts. But, I’ve always received high compliments on my writing, so having a blog allows me to write something regularly. Also, I like to share information, knowledge, and experience with other people in hopes that I will help someone somehow. I have received numerous emails from people telling me that I made an impact in their lives by something I’ve said and that is just the best feeling. And last, but not least, I love to connect with other people online who share common interests. It’s nice for me to be able to chat with and read about other moms of twins who are my age, because I don’t have many opportunities to meet young mothers of twins otherwise.

So anyway, that’s why I blog. How ’bout you? Don’t just lurk, come on, post a comment!
