And we all know life is all about being cool, right?
I was reading this post by Amanda on how non-bloggers view the blogosphere. I have to agree with her. Some people find it strange that a person would want to blog about every little detail of their life and diss on it like it’s some weird strange thing. Hello! This is 2008. Blogs are not new and they are certainly not odd. The only thing that is odd are the people who diss on you and call you odd for having a blog, but then obsess over your blog multiple times a day. (And then make their own secret blog to obsess over you even more… lol)
I’m wondering, for those hip enough to embrace the 21st century, why do you blog?
I blog because it’s just what I do. It’s my creative outlet. I get hot at the sight of html and css, and having a blog allows me to get my coding fix in regularly. Also, I’ve been blogging since I was 15 and for some strange reason, people have always come to my blogs see what I have to say. Apparently I’ve said something worth reading over the last 8-9 years. I love to write. I admit, I don’t do my best writing on here, I need to work on putting more effort in to my posts. But, I’ve always received high compliments on my writing, so having a blog allows me to write something regularly. Also, I like to share information, knowledge, and experience with other people in hopes that I will help someone somehow. I have received numerous emails from people telling me that I made an impact in their lives by something I’ve said and that is just the best feeling. And last, but not least, I love to connect with other people online who share common interests. It’s nice for me to be able to chat with and read about other moms of twins who are my age, because I don’t have many opportunities to meet young mothers of twins otherwise.
So anyway, that’s why I blog. How ’bout you? Don’t just lurk, come on, post a comment!

I agree.I have always been online. OpenDiary.com teenopendiary.com livejournal.com etc. I have always posted online. I used to journal until my parents read it and figured hell if no one will respect my privacy I’ll just be upfront about how I feel. && it is a lot faster for me to type about my life than to hand write it LOL!

I blog because I like to talk a lot, so it helps me get all that ‘extra’ out

I blog because it gives me something to do and I just like doing it. lol. I also find it easier then writting things down. I had to do that a few months ago for a school assingments and I hated it with a passion.

Umm I blog because it’s an outlet, although I don’t think I’m nearly truthful enough in it.. I probably need to stop freaking out that someone I know will see it, etc. I use it to rant, rave, whine.. generally get the garbage out of my brain so that I can think clearly.

LOL don’t tell me the lovely X has a blog now?! She just wants to BE you SO BAD doesn’t she?! If that is what you are talking about, I’m sure she has it protected so that you can’t read the things she says about you because we all know she obsesses over you. How pathetic! I’d actually be interested to see what things she has to say about yall! LOL!

I blog because I’m horrible at keeping up with a written journal and I want to let my family see what’s going on with our daughter. All of my family and my husband’s family live out of town and they don’t get to see her often enough so this is a way that they can watch her grow and change.

I’ve always had a blog. Even before CMS systems came about. I remember when you had to manually update each day. What were archives? It’s expression and a creative outlet. Simple. Oh and the people you meet. I have been online for 13 yrs. I still know some of the people that I first started out chatting with.

I blog because it is fun. I also like to play around with design and to meet new people who I share a common interest with.
I have always had a blog as well. I forgot what I had before Xanga, but I have had everything else under the sun. And I agree with Les about not being nearly truthful enough, I should try to be though!

Lol I remember having to update on my own too, Danni. I still chat with some of the people I met way back in the day too, and I love reconnecting with people who I used to talk to a long time ago.
I think I’m probably TOO truthful for some.

Back in the day I used to love making the site more than blogging, but the blog was still part of the site. html and css was one thing I could do fairly well and I loved playing with it- I often used it to get away from everything “IRL” because coding took up a lot of my attention. Then I gave up for a year or so, then I had a review site for a while but couldn’t find the time to update it often enough once I had Madison. Now I’ve signed up at typepad again, only this time intending to have a personal blog, but I don’t like it as much because I’m not free to design my site how I want it… I think that is why I’m not motivated to post on my blog, now that I think about it.

I have had my site since 2001. I enjoy blogging. It is an outlet for me to say what is on my mind & connect in many different ways with people I meet along the way. I like the saved memories. I especially love going back and laughing at how immature & naive I used to be. So catty too. I’m glad everyone gets along now.

I have been reading your blogs since Insydious and I very much enjoy your writing. I have kept a blog since I was 14-15 and I have actually thought about starting my own personal blog site.
Blogging is a great way to let others know what’s going on in your life and the best way possible to express yourself.. not only your feelings but you as a whole.
I love connecting with other people my age on the internet, people in my town are not so bright, and not very fun to talk to. lol
Keep up the good work, girlie.

LOL Did you see X bitches myspace today? LOL! She’s such a stalker! haha Obviously she’s hiding something or she would make her blog public. What a loser!

I use to have a website for several years & I loved it - it was definitely a creative outlet for me. Lately, I’ve been contemplating starting up another website, but we’ll see… For now, LJ is it for me
PS - I remember visiting your blog when you were about 16 and I still visit it now, so obviously you’re doing something right!

Jennifer - I did not see her status because I do not check her status. I don’t give two shits about what she has to say. I don’t have to go check her status to know that it’s about me or Preston. She obsesses over US, we do not obsess over her. Just because I said that she has a secret blog (which she does, or it wouldn’t be protected) doesn’t mean I check up on her or even want to know what she has to say. Please don’t tell me about it anymore.
The bottom line is that yes, she is obsessive over mine and Preston’s lives. She visits my blog an average of 3-4 times every single day. She browses photos of mine and Preston’s girls, she watches our videos, she goes to my myspace, she tries to be in our lives in any way possible and it’s just sad, disgusting, and disturbing.
We on the other hand, do not care about her or what she has to say, and so we don’t check up on her. There is one person “on the inside” who has told us about her blog and that it’s secret. That’s how I know.
Now can we please not mention her again because really, she makes me sick.

Thank you for linking me.
I’m glad you enjoyed my post. I blog because it makes me feel good. I just like rehashing my thoughts to myself and apparently, the public. The irony in the post was that I could not go into detail about the real life people that have the most beef with the blogosphere…because they feel the need to read my blog. They even text me if I haven’t updated in a while. Oh, the irony. Anyhow, I started reading your site sometime this summer. I enjoy it. I’m also like, “hey! she read Janet Evanovich! And I appreciate anyone who likes Lulu and Grandma Mazur as much as I!” haha
PS. I am very, very jealous of your webdesign skills. It always looks so fresh and unique here. Maybe if I continue visiting, the skills will seep into my brain via osmosis. haha.

I meant Lula not Lulu. What a travesty.

I love Sarah’s blog and love reading it. She writes very well and is very good at putting things in words.
