Since my baby boutique is almost ready to open, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into how to pack/ship and advertise my store. I was at Vista Print working on an order for my business cards and I noticed that they also have car door magnets now too. What a perfect way to advertise your business! I’m going to order one and put it on the back of my Armada (next to my “Twins on Board” magnet hehe) and hopefully it will get some traffic to my store. Seriously, I’m so excited about this! I think it’s going to do really well.
Last night I bought some supplies on ebay and got some really great deals. I love shopping on the internet because you can find things that local craft stores don’t have. I was looking for this one particular kind of applique and I haven’t been able to find it but sure enough, I found it on ebay!
So, does anyone have any other good advertising ideas? I have been wearing the clips I made and have been putting them on the girls (don’t worry, I’m not selling the ones we wear) and once I get my business cards in I’ll start giving them to people who ask about the bows/clips on the girls. People have asked about them already but I haven’t been able to give them a card yet. I love Vista Print because they always have sweet deals. You can actually get free business cards there. But I really think this car magnet is a great idea. It’s not permanent like other decals that people use to advertise businesses on their cars.
Okay anyway, back to work for me!

I am thinking…but nothing is coming to mind. You might just have to start passing them out places. Find places that allow you to put business cards up in their store, etc. But the car magnet is a cute idea. I am sure it will do great though.

I would love to help out. I am in kind of the same pickle thinking of ideas for the business i want to open. I have to get the money to open it first, and that’s a ways off. If I think of anything I will certainly let you know!

What about moo.com? Maybe you can get some sliding boxes to put the barrettes in? Maybe use some colored and/or printed tissue paper?

I think putting something on your car (like a decal) is a great idea. There was one time this doctor I really liked left the practice she was in. They would not tell me what happened with her, only she was no longer there. Then one day I see a fan with an advertisement for her new practice on the back windshield of her minivan! I told her how I re-found her and she said she couldn’t believe how many people had found her because of the advertisement too.

How about making advertisement flyer’s and putting them up on bulletin boards at various stores and locations?

I haven’t had the chance to tell you congrats on the new business venture.. I’m sure you’ll do a spectacular job.. The girls look so cute in their little hair clips, it’s amazing what a little pink will do for a hairdo!
As far as advertising ideas, don’t forget about newspaper ads and other print advertising… something like this may be an option (http://www.tidbitsmedia.com/Tidbits+Locations.aspx)…
Can’t wait to see the website!
Love you!

I once considered getting a car magnet for my online business, but I wasn’t sure how much good it would do. But I guess with iPhones and everyone having internet on them at all times, it might actually be a good idea.

One of the good things about the net is you can advertise practically anywhere. I know I don’t have kids, but I’d gladly link the site and mention it. Isn’t that what friends are for? I cannot wait to see the store. Two of my best friends from school are Moms now. One to a girl of 1 month and a boy of 1 year. They will love it. I owe presents too so I cannot wait to shop…gonna wait for your site.

heya sarah … not much advice on driving new business.. but when people order stuff you could include like a thankyou note along with a couple of postcards/stickers with your stores branding in there … i recently bought a necklace over at tokyomade (japanese accessory estore) and they did that and i thought it was such a cute idea and it reminds me to go back and shop some more
goodluck with it!

I am loving the new idea. The clips look so cute! I will definitely get some for Riley when you get the site up. Business cards are always a great idea. I will advertise you on my site once you get going.
Good luck and prayers on your new adventure. BTW, when will you be posting more of your story on you and Preston?
