Have any of you readers used a portable crib for your baby? We are wanting to get some portable cribs for the cabin at Grandma’s house. I am considering these but I am not sure how long they will last, size wise. It says that it fits up to 24 months but I’m not sure what weight limit they are assuming that would be.
Right now we are using the pack ‘n plays for travel and at Grandma’s but the problem I am having with them is that the girls stand on the end of the pad and it’s starting to bend. Emma weighs 19lbs after being sick, almost to 20lbs again, and Ava is 21lbs. So, I’m wondering how long these portable cribs might be useful. The pack ‘n play pads are not very sturdy, I think it’s padded cardboard or something? And these have a particle board base and a mattress.
Anyway, just curious if anyone has any insight?

I use a potable crib when my nephew comes over and spends the nights. He use to sleep in his play pen also but once he was able to pull himself up he would try and climb out. We finally broke down and spent the money on a crib that I can store in the closet when he is not here. It helps a lot with the traveling not having to pack a bed and all. We had to buy a new mattress for the crib. The other one was cheap and crappy. Besides that it works great for when he isn’t home in his real bed. He hasn’t spent 2 nights in it with no problem too. I think we bought it from target I really am not sure I wasn’t the one to purchased it. I hope that helps you a little bit.

Hunter can still and does still sleep in THAT one when we go to my dad’s for visit. He is 21 months old and weighs about 25 lbs. I think the girls should be fine… I think it’s up to 30 or 40 lbs. I will see if I can find the box. He sleeps without a peep. When we go other places I still use the pack ‘n’ play.

Okay… I just checked the COSCO site it says “The weight limit on your portable crib is 50 pounds or when your child reaches 35 inches tall.” I tried to post the link in a comment I just posted, but it got filtered I think.

We have the same portacrib for Grandma’s and my daughter (at 2 and 28 pounds) still sleeps great in it when we visit. I would highly recommend.
However, the mattress wasn’t very cushy, so we did splurge on another and that seemed to be much more comfortable.

I just use the old trusty pack n’ play, still works great and used it as a basinet when he was an infant.
