Trash the Dress. Have you done it?
It’s this idea that after the wedding you do a photo shoot later in your wedding dress and totally “trash” it. Get it all wet and dirty and get some great photos. Even though my wedding was 2 years ago, I am thinking about “trashing” my dress. I spent $1200 on the dang thing and wore it for one day!!! It’s just hanging in a storage bag. I don’t think 2 years later is too late to trash the dress, do you? I can still fit into it, so I don’t need to down any diet pills before hand! Might as well, right? And it would be super cool to add to Preston’s portfolio.
So, have you trashed your wedding dress? It sounds like a fabulous idea to me. Photo examples! I think it sounds a lot worse than it actually is. You don’t really like trash it to the point of it being totally destroyed. You just take some really great photos and don’t worry if the dress gets wet or dirty.
Sounds fun to me!

I had to throw this in because it’s one of my favs.

I have heard of that and thought about doing it but might try to sell it instead. I definetely don’t need to keep it! I may do it next summer if I can’t sell it. :P

I agree that it would make a great photo opportunity, but don’t do it to your dress. See if you can guy a cheap dress online or something and trash that. Your girls may want to wear your dress someday. Promise you’ll think more about it

i definitely wouldn’t do it. your girls may want to wear it someday or you could donate it so a woman that can’t afford a dress can wear it. trashing it would be super wasteful.

That pic is gorgeous as is the dress. I don’t know if I could bear to trash my wedding dress if I ever got married, but I agree the pics would look pretty good .

I know I would never sell it or give it away, and I would still keep it after I “trashed” it.
Also, I want my girls to pick out their own dresses. Picking out the dress is half the fun!

My good friend from high school is now a photographer, she’s very good too, always been artistic. She does Trash the Dress and I LOVE it all. I don’t think it’s too late.

i personally would never do it - i’m far too sentimental - but it could be fun

$1200? omg wow.

wow, you spent alot on your dress. I’ve always loved the idea of doing it. The photos from the flickr account dont really look like they trashed the dress tho, just posed in water which i think is really romantic.
I say, for an anniv. get preston in a suit, you in your dress and get someone to take pics of both of you in th water or something.

That’s a good idea Erica.
We spent way too much on the entire wedding! If I could go back and do it again, I would have spent a lot less on everything. Oh well, good thing I only have to do it once!

Oh that sounds like a lot of fun!
And Erica’s idea sounds great!

Wow I never heard of this before. It’s a great idea. I’m sure it would make for some amazing pictures! Most people never wear their dresses again anyway so why not do something fun with it?

Ooh that is a tough one. I never saw the point in saving the thing since you never really get to wear it again. I think the idea of that photoshoot and how good the pictures could turn out would make it worth it. Why not?

i don’t think it’s too late to do it! go for it
it will be romantic and sexy and beautiful and it WILL be good for preston’s portfolio. you might as well milk your dress for all it’s worth, anyway! lol

You should do it!!
You don’t even really have to trash it.
We have done 5 TTD shoots for brides that have been married from days to decades. 4 of them still have their dresses in good to very good shape. They just needed a dry clean.
