Two men were arrested for hanging Obama effigy in Kentucky.

Uh… what? Excuse me? Come again? Hang Sarah Palin all day long and that’s all fine and dandy but if you hang Obama you damn well better prepare yourself to go to jail! Oh but I forget, this violated some sort of special university law or some crap right? But the whole Palin stunt didn’t violate anything. Why do I get the feeling if this were Palin hanging at the same university, it would have been seen a whole lot differently regardless of the “code of ethics”? And just for the record, I do realize that the Palin stunt was on private property and this was not, however, I seriously seriously seriously doubt anyone would have been arrested had this been something featuring McCain/Palin.

“As outrageous and offensive an act as the effigy was, I truly believe it has mobilized our campus, the community and the state in an effort to battle racism,”

Hang Sarah Palin and that’s all funny and Halloween-ish but hang Obama and that’s… you got it right…. RACIST! And it doesn’t even matter where it was done. I bet you that anyone who has or might hang something this stupid in their yard would be called racist. But if it’s McCain they hang, well that can’t POSSIBLY be racist because we ALL KNOW that it’s IMPOSSIBLE to be racist against us white folk. And when it was Palin? Was it sexist? Of course not! Just ask the media. They know everything, right?

I’m so completely disgusted with half of this nation, and I’m sure you know which half that would be. You people need to pull your heads out of your asses and wake the hell up! Yes. YOU PEOPLE.

And now I’m reading that Obama is preparing to lower the expectations of his presidency if in fact (God forbid) he becomes president. Gee Obama, you mean you actually CAN’T bring about all this amazing fluffy everyone loves everyone world “change” and “hope” that you so arrogantly bullshit about? Wow. What a freaking surprise!

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, here’s my cute babies:

Happy Freaking Halloween.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween used to be my favorite holiday. I always loved having an excuse to get all dressed up and hang out with friends all night long. I have seen some pretty creative and crazy costumes at Halloween parties! Halloween is still a pretty fun holiday for me, but it’s definitely a lot different when you have little ones! Instead of searching for the skimpiest costume I can get away with, I’ve been constructing the cutest little matching costumes for the girls. They are dressing up as an angel and a devil. Just another reason why having twins is so fun! You get to create matching costumes! Last year they were two peas in a pod.
Tonight we are going taking the girls to some things around town. The concept of knocking on strangers doors asking for candy has always seemed odd to me, so I’m glad they have things that little kids can do safely.
I was trying to convince Preston to dress up with me, but we can’t seem to come up with any non-offensive costumes.
Anyway, I need to finish up the angel costume so I better get off of here!

p.s. Here’s a site for golf clubs incase you decide to dress up as a golfer.

Oktoberfest or Which-political-candidate-is-better-fest

Oktoberfest this Saturday went well. I was pleased with the amount of bows sold. I got a lot of business cards handed out and several requests for special orders, so that was good as well. Preston was a huge help because I’m not very good at “selling” so it was nice to have him there.

There was another woman there selling bows and several people commented to me that my prices were a lot higher than hers but that my bows were nicer. I decided to go down and casually check her stuff out. I quickly found out why her stuff is so much cheaper than mine. She uses wire to make her bows instead of hand sewing them, and she left all the metal clips unlined. I hand sew all my bows because they last a lot longer that way and I line my clips because it helps them hold better and looks a lot more professional. Her plain clippies were selling for 25 cents each, and they were crooked and had glue sticking out the sides. Also, her loops were uneven on a lot of her bows and they overall just didn’t look like something you would find in a boutique. More like something you would find at WalMart. And that is fine, she’s obviously going for quantity over quality, but that’s not my style. I would much rather sell less bows knowing that my customers will be happy and have a good quality product.

It was fun to get out and meet and talk with people in the community. The store that my bows are in is right next to the Texas Democrat office so, I was sure to pick up a McCain/Palin sign and point it in their direction. We had a bunch of people showing support for McCain and several people stopped to tell us stories of how the democrats have let them down. It was enlightening.

One thing that I noticed that didn’t actually surprise me, but did annoy me, was the amount of kids (we’re talking like, 8-12) who were flat out rude and obnoxious to us because of our McCain/Palin sign. These kids have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. They just say “we like Obama” or “McCain sucks”. One kid who looked to be maybe 10 told me he was going to knock my sign over. I had to say “what?” several times and have him repeat himself before I could even understand what on earth he was saying. Would I be racist to say that every single one of the children that was rude to us was black? I’m sure I would be, right? Well, it’s a fact, that’s what happened. At one point this group of black teenagers stood next to my table when Preston left to get some food and made a point to talk trash about white people and how they are just racist toward Obama. Okay, they are talking trash and spitting stereotypes out about white people and yet white people are being racist? Pot calling the kettle black, perhaps? They were giving me looks like they were considering beating the crap out of me, talking and looking at me like they wanted me to say something so they could start a fight. These are kids and teenagers who can’t even vote. They have no clue what anything means, they just hear what their parents tell them or what the media says. They go with what appears to be popular. I don’t like Obama, and it has absolutely nothing to do with him being black. However, it’s quite interesting to see the amount of people voting for Obama only because he’s black. But, I’m the racist one, right?

Anyway, the day was fun. I’m sure I’ll get slammed for this post and told how much of a racist I am but I don’t even care anymore. I’m just telling it like it is. I’m sorry if that offends anyone.

I apologize for not updating lately. I find myself faced with things that I wish I could write about but I have to think twice before doing so.

For example, today, I wish I could go off on a big fat rant about Preston’s psychotic, delusional, conniving, pathetic ex wife, but…. I can’t. I will just repeat again what I have said before - if you don’t have an ex wife in your life, thank the Lord every day.

I’ve been busy all week working on stuff for Oktoberfest this weekend. The store down town where I have some of my stuff is right in the area where the craft fair portion is so the owner is letting me put my stuff outside on his display table. In exchange, I’m working his table for him. I’m really looking forward to it, hopefully I’ll sell some stuff.

The owner of this store is another thing I find myself wishing I could write about lately but have had to think twice about. I will just say that he thinks I’m attractive. This has caused a bit of an issue in my life where I am torn between keeping my stuff in his store or just forgetting the entire thing. At this point I’m just seeing how things go.

The girls are both getting molars and are both sick with colds and ear infections. It amazes me how doctors say that teething has nothing to do with getting sick while teething, because every single time they are teething really bad, they get sick.

This cabin we’re living in seems to get smaller by the day. We are going to hopefully be out of it by Dec 1st though. We have made a few small changes on the building plans that are allowing us to be in something larger sooner rather than later. I’ll write more about that on our building site soon, or I’ll have Preston write something.

Well, that’s all for now. I think I’m going to go look up some Mexican recipes and see if I can find anything good to cook in this tiny kitchen. Mexican sounds soooo good right now.
