A Recap of Vegas
5:02 pm ~ 9
Filed Under: Emma & Ava, Life (Or Something Like It), Travel

Vegas was so fun. Too bad though that I am too exhausted to put much effort into typing an extremely detailed account of the vacation. Since we’ve been back we’ve been busy getting the last of the stuff out of the condo and cleaning and all of that fun stuff that goes along with moving out of a rental. I don’t have much room to talk, Preston did most of it but I did help. I’m happy to say we are completely done though.
Before I go into the Vegas recap, I just have to take a moment to complain. Having twin infants was easy. Very easy. I had no problems with taking care of two babies when they were little. Having two toddlers is a very different story. I wouldn’t say I have “problems” with them, but oh my gosh it is exhausting. I don’t want to sound…. well…. I’ll just flat out say it. Until you have twin toddlers I don’t want to hear anyone complain about how their toddler is a handful. Seriously. Complain on your blog or to your friends, whatever, I know kids are a handful in any number but don’t complain to me. Thanks. Really, it’s not that bad but it is tiring. When they were babies they weren’t very aware of the other but now they encourage, instigate, pick on, etc. the other one all day long. And although I am grateful that they love and adore me, it gets a little old when they scream their heads off when I try to do anything where they can’t see me. Example: going to the bathroom with the door closed.
They are amazing and I missed them tons while we were gone, and I’m sure I’ll get used to the toddler-ness soon. It’s good that the moving is out of the way. Now we just have the fun (and some stress I’m sure) of building to look forward to! And by the way, they were sooooooo excited to see us when we got back. Emma was sitting on her knees and actually fell over backwards with excitement. It was so cute. I wish I would have thought to record their reaction to us returning.

Okay so on to Vegas. It was so much fun. It was awesome to have alone time with the hubby. The first night we were there we just hung out and had a good time, then the second night we went to see The Blue Man Group. It was really good! It started kind of slow for me but then it picked up. You definitely have to have a certain sense of humor to appreciate the show. The woman behind us kept talking about how it wasn’t funny. Not everyone thinks it’s funny to make music out of chomping on Captain Crunch I guess.
The third night we went to see Phantom of the Opera. We opted for this instead of O and I am so glad we did. I absolutely loved it. It’s probably the best show/play/musical/etc. I’ve ever seen and that is no exaggeration. The story is awesome, the music is amazing, it was just flat out incredible. I can’t wait to see it again. Before the show we ate at the best Italian place ever. I’m going to post a review on it later I think. It’s called San Marco and it’s in the Venetian. So, so, so good.
Hmm… what else… we also went to the wax museum which was sooooo cool. We got lots of good pictures there that I’ll post soon. We did a lot of walking around and a little gambling but not too much. We were up quite a bit but well, it’s Vegas and we didn’t make it home with any of the money we won, but we didn’t come home behind either. So that’s good. Overall it was a great time, and I can’t wait to go back again. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can go back. I don’t know what it is about Vegas, it’s just “our place” and although it might not seem like it, it’s the most relaxing place for me. It’s great. Of course I haven’t been to Mexico yet, so I might change my mind once I’ve been there.

Well, time to get dinner started. Also, I haven’t finished approving people for my new blog yet, but I’ll get that done this week, hopefully. I plan on looking around at house stuff this week. I want to look at budget software for house building so that we don’t over spend.

Here’s another video of Emma spinning. She’s so cute! Ava was watching and laughing at her. They are so precious. Of course I’m not biased or anything.

Ava Walking
12:10 am ~ 11

I need to go to bed, but before I do, here is an adorable video of Ava walking! These are the most steps she’s taken at once. And the first time on camera. I’m lovin’ my new phone! It takes really good videos. I can’t wait until Emma walks too! By the way, I have no idea what that loud noise is at 36 secs. I think it’s Emma? I think she threw her toy on the hard floor…? LOL!
Goodnight!

Emma’s Moves

Last week, Emma discovered that she could do this on the floor down at the cabin. She thinks it’s quite funny. I managed to catch a little on my camera phone. The quality is not very good, but you get the idea. I’m going to try to get a better video of this because it’s just too cute!

Portable Crib
10:30 pm ~ 6
Filed Under: Emma & Ava, Shopping

Have any of you readers used a portable crib for your baby? We are wanting to get some portable cribs for the cabin at Grandma’s house. I am considering these but I am not sure how long they will last, size wise. It says that it fits up to 24 months but I’m not sure what weight limit they are assuming that would be.
Right now we are using the pack ‘n plays for travel and at Grandma’s but the problem I am having with them is that the girls stand on the end of the pad and it’s starting to bend. Emma weighs 19lbs after being sick, almost to 20lbs again, and Ava is 21lbs. So, I’m wondering how long these portable cribs might be useful. The pack ‘n play pads are not very sturdy, I think it’s padded cardboard or something? And these have a particle board base and a mattress.
Anyway, just curious if anyone has any insight?
