This weekend while we were visiting family, we found a turtle! It was so neat, I have never seen a turtle “in the wild” before. He was walking up the gravel drive way that leads to the guest cabin. Emma was very curious about the turtle. She loved it!

She is very curious about things, especially animals, and isn’t afraid to explore. Ava on the other hand, did not want anything to do with the turtle. She refused to touch it and instead just sat back and quietly watched like she usually does. She is not an explorer like Emma. She’s the quiet thinker, always watching everything and trying to figure it out.

After petting the turtle Preston took him back to the woods where he would be happy and safe. And Preston just pointed out that Emma is wearing a dress with a turtle on it in these pictures. How funny!

The birthday party for the girls was so much fun! I think everyone had a great time. Emma did the whole “it’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to” thing for a good part of the weekend but it wasn’t too bad. She doesn’t like when females that she doesn’t know try to be near her or pick her up. Males, she seems fine with. Mostly she just freaks out for female adults. Not sure what that is about…
Anyway, I didn’t get as many photos as I hoped because we forgot the external flash so we had to use the one on the camera. (BLEH! I hate how the flash makes the photos look) But we did end up with some cute pictures anyway.

Happy 1st Birthday Emma & Ava!!!!!!!

Wow. I can’t even believe it! My little itty bitty babies are one year old!!! I was going to type quite a bit more this morning but I have to get ready to leave for the weekend. I slept in and now I only have a couple hours to get a bunch of stuff done. So, here’s some pictures instead.

I’m still up and I really need to get to bed. I hate how on days like today when I am not on my computer very much, I sit down at night for “just a minute” and then hours later I’m like, “oh, maybe I should go to bed”.

I went tanning tonight which I usually never do, but I am determined to not be pasty white for once in my life. I want an actual tan and not an artificial one. I tan okay as long as I take it slow. I burn really bad if I don’t carefully control how long I’m exposed. I’m really paranoid about skin cancer though… and my Dad did have skin cancer which started out as a mole (and has since been removed) so it’s probably not the best idea… I’ll probably end up switching to the usual spray tanning. I love the feeling after you get done tanning. It makes my skin feel happy. It won’t feel so happy if I end up with skin cancer though!

So we are officially going to Las Vegas for our 2 year wedding anniversary. Officially. I am SO EXCITED. This will be my 5th time to Vegas and it never gets old. LOVE IT. We are saving for several things after this trip for our anniversary, such as a down payment to buy a house, and…. a trip to Mexico next spring! Woooo! I can’t wait. I’ve never been but we are going to try hard to save up for a family trip. I’ll need to get a passport by then because I don’t have one. I will admit, being out of the country freaks me out a little… but it’s Mexico… so how bad could it be? I really don’t like the idea of being in a country where I can’t even speak the language.

So. 3 days until the girls FIRST BIRTHDAY. For your entertainment, here is a picture of me 3 days before the girls were born. WOW.
