I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but this is my blog. I make the rules here. If you want to have your own little place to post opinions and make your own rules on things, go make your own blog.
The reason I originally chose to close comments on the abortion post is simply because last night when I posted that, I didn’t have the energy to read through comments telling me how wrong I am and how it’s okay to kill innocent unborn children. Just because I don’t have the energy to listen to liberals babble at some point, doesn’t mean that I don’t listen to the other side. I listen. Trust me. I hear you loud and clear. Killing unborn babies is okay. Got ‘cha.
The fact is that abortion is a very heated discussion. Very few people have the ability to discuss abortion in a respectable way without throwing around insults and flat out garbage. Also, the chances of someone changing someones opinion on abortion, I think, is very slim. So, what’s the point in allowing my comments to get flooded with arguments and hateful nonsense? I don’t have to allow people to comment here. Comments here on my blog are a privilege, not a right.
So, I will ask again, if you are going to comment on heated topics on my blog, please do so with as much respect as you can muster up. You don’t have to throw insults around in an attempt to prove a point. If the comments get out of control, based on my definition of “out of control”, I will close them again and you’ll have to go piss and moan on your own little blog about it. Mmmmk?
Lasik surgery anyone?

Tada! A new theme.
It’s very summery wouldn’t you say? I made it last night and finished it up today while Emma was napping. She has a cold… again. So Ava has been hanging out with Grandma while Emma slept. Preston has a flight today, and he’s suppose to come down here tonight but right now it’s stormy down here so we’ll see if he’s able to. I might end up staying here longer than planned. That’s fine by me! I don’t want to go back home yet anyway.
I’m enjoying the quietness and lack of house cleaning.
Anyway, better go see what Grandma and Ava are up to!

Thank so much for the support guys!
I think I’ll keep this blog up and make a new one that is for friends/family/fans only that is more personal. Don’t worry, I think most everyone that posted a comment on the other post would get access. And those that didn’t post a comment too that I already know. Either way, don’t worry.
Anyway, I’m real tired so I think I’m off to bed!

I am beginning to seriously consider making alittlelessordinary.com a private blog and only allow friends and family access. There are some very exciting things happening very soon (it’s a secret at this point) and Preston and I want to document the entire… process… but we don’t want everyone to know every last little detail.
It’s not just things that are coming up, I’ve been feeling like this for a while. I used to like having a blog and letting everyone and their mama know what’s going on, but it has become more of a… what’s the right word… I don’t know. I just feel like it’s less of a personal outlet and more of an obligation. I don’t feel like I can say whatever I want because I know there is always someone here waiting to “catch” something that I say and make a big deal out of nothing. “You know who” still comes here very frequently and it’s just… well it’s a lot of things… but “weird” seems like the safest word to call it at this moment. And by the way, this has nothing to do with the racist thing. That’s just silly.
I still want to enjoy the income I get from the blog because it is a nice little bit of spending money every month, so I don’t know what I’ll do about that. Maybe a new domain?
So, who knows. While I decide what to do, check out these term life insurance quotes!
And I am working on a new theme. That’s always fun.
p.s. I did a new post over at My Little Review tonight. I haven’t had much time for extra blogging lately but I’m going to try to get that blog going, hopefully.
hosting and domain names

The Internets
I get a lot of emails from people asking me how they can start up their own blog, and which hosting companies are good to use. I’m always able to lend a hand on getting a blog going, but I’m not usually as helpful on which hosting companies are the best. We own our own server, so I basically have my own “hosting”. Most of the time I direct people to web hosting review sites such as webhostingbluebook.net. This website is a very helpful tool in helping you narrow down your hosting choices. I like their easy layout and navigation. They also have some good articles available to get you started on building your website or blog, such as what is hosting, what are databases, and what is a domain name.
Which brings me to my next little bit of advice, when starting your own website you have to have a great domain name. I decided on “A Little Less Ordinary” because it’s my opinion that my life is not such an ordinary one. Not everyone has the whole “love at first sight” thing where it’s actually real. And then spontaneous fraternal twins! Since meeting my husband my life has been anything but ordinary… in a very good way! My old domain name for my blog (from when I was 15-21), as a lot of you remember, was insydious.net. Insidious meaning “seemingly harmless but actually very dangerous”. It fit me at that period of time in my life.
So, when you’re choosing a domain name for your website or blog, try to pick one that describes you or your life.
It’s always humorous to stumble across a blog of a person and come to find out the domain name doesn’t even come close to fitting the author. Good .com names are hard to find these days because a lot of people/companies will “squat” on a good name and only use it for useless ads. But, if you take some time to think it out, a great name will come to you.
