A Recap of Vegas

Vegas was so fun. Too bad though that I am too exhausted to put much effort into typing an extremely detailed account of the vacation. Since we’ve been back we’ve been busy getting the last of the stuff out of the condo and cleaning and all of that fun stuff that goes along with moving out of a rental. I don’t have much room to talk, Preston did most of it but I did help. I’m happy to say we are completely done though.
Before I go into the Vegas recap, I just have to take a moment to complain. Having twin infants was easy. Very easy. I had no problems with taking care of two babies when they were little. Having two toddlers is a very different story. I wouldn’t say I have “problems” with them, but oh my gosh it is exhausting. I don’t want to sound…. well…. I’ll just flat out say it. Until you have twin toddlers I don’t want to hear anyone complain about how their toddler is a handful. Seriously. Complain on your blog or to your friends, whatever, I know kids are a handful in any number but don’t complain to me. Thanks.
Really, it’s not that bad but it is tiring. When they were babies they weren’t very aware of the other but now they encourage, instigate, pick on, etc. the other one all day long. And although I am grateful that they love and adore me, it gets a little old when they scream their heads off when I try to do anything where they can’t see me. Example: going to the bathroom with the door closed.
They are amazing and I missed them tons while we were gone, and I’m sure I’ll get used to the toddler-ness soon. It’s good that the moving is out of the way. Now we just have the fun (and some stress I’m sure) of building to look forward to!
And by the way, they were sooooooo excited to see us when we got back. Emma was sitting on her knees and actually fell over backwards with excitement. It was so cute. I wish I would have thought to record their reaction to us returning.
Okay so on to Vegas. It was so much fun. It was awesome to have alone time with the hubby.
The first night we were there we just hung out and had a good time, then the second night we went to see The Blue Man Group. It was really good! It started kind of slow for me but then it picked up. You definitely have to have a certain sense of humor to appreciate the show. The woman behind us kept talking about how it wasn’t funny. Not everyone thinks it’s funny to make music out of chomping on Captain Crunch I guess.
The third night we went to see Phantom of the Opera. We opted for this instead of O and I am so glad we did. I absolutely loved it. It’s probably the best show/play/musical/etc. I’ve ever seen and that is no exaggeration. The story is awesome, the music is amazing, it was just flat out incredible. I can’t wait to see it again. Before the show we ate at the best Italian place ever. I’m going to post a review on it later I think. It’s called San Marco and it’s in the Venetian. So, so, so good.
Hmm… what else… we also went to the wax museum which was sooooo cool. We got lots of good pictures there that I’ll post soon. We did a lot of walking around and a little gambling but not too much. We were up quite a bit but well, it’s Vegas and we didn’t make it home with any of the money we won, but we didn’t come home behind either. So that’s good. Overall it was a great time, and I can’t wait to go back again. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can go back. I don’t know what it is about Vegas, it’s just “our place” and although it might not seem like it, it’s the most relaxing place for me. It’s great. Of course I haven’t been to Mexico yet, so I might change my mind once I’ve been there.
Well, time to get dinner started. Also, I haven’t finished approving people for my new blog yet, but I’ll get that done this week, hopefully. I plan on looking around at house stuff this week. I want to look at budget software for house building so that we don’t over spend.
Happy Anniversary To Us!

Yay!
Two wonderful fun amazing years! So much has happened. It’s insane!
We leave for our 4th trip to Vegas together in the morning and I am so excited! We have to get up pretty early so I should be in bed but I had a lot of things to get together for the girls while we’re gone. I’m going to miss them but I’m really looking forward to the break!
I most likely won’t post again until we get back, but I’ll probably post to my flickr account. Because you know, I have a super cool new phone that takes good pictures.
(I like my phone, have you noticed? )
Hope everyone has a good week! I’ll get with the 3 Trees Gotta Go registrations when I get back.

I just looooove being able to hop in the plane and go some where fast! Today we decided to go have dinner with Preston’s parents. Normally this would be an all day thing because it’s a 3 hour drive each direction to drive to his parents house. Well, now that Preston has his pilots license, we can drive to the local airport (10 min drive, no security checks, etc. ) hop in the plane and be at his parents house in 40 minutes each way. It is AWESOME. The only down side is that obviously it cost money to rent a plane, but right now while Preston is in school, he needs to build his cross country hours as part of his next certification and so it’s already paid for.
Flying in a small plane is nothing like flying in an airliner. You don’t have to go through security stuff, check baggage, sit in a squished seat rubbing shoulders with strangers… not to mention the whole feel of the flight is totally different. It’s just so amazing. The babies did great today when we flew to visit Grandma and Papa. Preston and Ashton were in the front and I sat in the back seat with one of the babies in a car seat and one on my lap. They took turns, one got to ride on my lap the way down and the other the way home. They were just in awe looking out the window, they had a blast. There were a couple times when we were descending where their ears hurt a little but other than that they did really well.
In May we are flying up to WA to visit my family for the girls 1st birthday. I can’t wait! Preston will be flying us and normally it’s a huge ordeal to fly up there. We spend a bunch on airline tickets, getting the girls through security was a head ache, waiting at the airport, the flight is uncomfortable and 4 hours non stop. Then when we arrive in Seattle, we have to then drive 6 hours east to get to my parents house! But, with Preston flying we just hop in the plane and fly right into the local airport in my parents town. It will obviously take longer in a small plane but it will be so much fun. Like a road trip but better. So much better. The cost will be less to rent a plane for that time (we can’t use Preston’s school money for that trip) than it would be to buy airline tickets and rent a car to drive. No more spending hours online looking for the best travel deals!
Can you tell I’m lovin’ this husband as a pilot thing?
He’s awesome.

Most of you probably know by now that Preston and I love Vegas. The shows there are amazing. There’s so much to do there but you never have enough time to do everything you want. I like to do a little wishful thinking sometimes and browse what shows are there. So tonight I was checking out what shows will be there this summer and saw Cher tickets for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which caught my eye because I thought Celine Dion was at Caesars Palace still. Well apparently Cher has a new show coming soon that is replacing Celine Dion’s show at Caesars Palace. I was actually pretty surprised to hear that because Celine Dion’s show has always been a huge hit. We have wanted to see it but just never got the chance. I guess her contract is over or something. I’m sure the new show with Cher will but just as huge and insanely popular as Celine’s was. How could it not be?! Elton John also performs at Caesars Palace. That would be an amazing show to see as well. And I’ve always wanted to catch Jay Leno but he’s always been there either the day before or the day after we leave!
Anyway, I can’t wait to go to Vegas again. Hopefully we’ll go again this coming summer or fall.

It’s cold out tonight and it feels so nice. I just loooove when it starts to get chilly. It’s so fun to drink coco and snuggle up by the fire.
I think it would be fun to take a winter vacation and rent a cabin sometime. One of my friends is doing that and I’m totally jealous about it. I want to go on a vacation! Something like these Pigeon Forge cabin rentals would be fun. Preston rented a house in Mexico once and really, you can rent a really nice house/cabin for just as much, if not less, than a hotel.
Sounds like the girls are ready for their bed time bottle. I’ve barely had the chance to sit down today. Mondays are always busy.
